An IndiGo aircraft, operating flight 6E 225 from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar, came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole on Friday morning. This incident occurred at around 9:02 am when the plane was being positioned at Bay No. 06 at Srinagar Airport.
All passengers and crew members onboard reported safe. There were no injuries, and those onboard were deboarded using manual aircraft stairs. The swift and effective response by the ground staff ensured that the situation remained under control.
The airport authorities confirmed that they would investigate the incident to determine its cause. “The exact cause will be ascertained following the completion of the inquiry, and no conclusion regarding the cause is being drawn at this stage,” stated a representative from Srinagar Airport.
Despite the incident, flight operations at Srinagar Airport continued without any disruption. Arrivals and departures remained on schedule, highlighting the airport’s commitment to maintaining safe and efficient aviation services.
