Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati declared that the “record-breaking” turnout at the rally on the 19th death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram has made rival parties “sleepless and nervous.” The grand gathering took place on October 19 at the Kanshi Ram Memorial on VIP Road in Lucknow.
In a post shared on X the day after the event, Mayawati expressed that the overwhelming enthusiasm of youth and women reflected the unwavering determination of BSP supporters. “Their slogans echo a commitment to restore a BSP government in Uttar Pradesh for the fifth time,” she stated.
Mayawati noted the natural response of opposition leaders, saying it was expected for them to falter when faced with such a show of strength. She urged her supporters to disregard what she referred to as “meaningless remarks” from rival parties.
“The people of the Bahujan Samaj have demonstrated their commitment to realizing Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of empowering the oppressed through voting,” Mayawati asserted, reinforcing her party’s ideology.
She also called upon her party workers to stay alert against what she described as the “divisive and deceitful tactics” of political opponents. The emphasis was placed on maintaining focus for the upcoming electoral challenge, specifically the BSP’s strategy dubbed ‘Mission 2027’, aimed at the next Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Mayawati extended her gratitude to party functionaries across all 75 districts for successfully mobilizing lakhs of supporters to and from the rally. She acknowledged their effort as a crucial step in the BSP’s fight for social justice and equality.
She also thanked those who paid tributes to Kanshi Ram across India, describing their participation as a symbolic demonstration of unity and strength in the BSP’s mission.
The message was clear; with such a significant presence, the BSP leadership interprets this turnout as a clear signal of its agenda resonating with the populace. As elections loom, this show of strength likely escalates the political tension in Uttar Pradesh, with Mayawati emerging as a formidable contender.
