Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah approved a significant used water management project on Thursday. This initiative includes a Rs 19.99 crore sewage treatment plant for Ganderbal town, aimed at ensuring better sanitation and environmental protection.
The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed through a post on X that this project will lead to proper treatment of used water, helping to keep rivers clean and enhancing public health within the region. In addition to the water management project, the Jammu and Kashmir government has also greenlit a scheme aimed at reviving and promoting traditional crafts. This scheme, designed under the skill development department, aims to introduce heritage courses in various technical institutions across the region.
The heritage courses initiative will cover seven traditional crafts across 25 units in government ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes) and polytechnics. The program aims to accommodate up to 500 students, complemented by stipends for trainees and honorariums for instructors.
