NEW DELHI, May 11: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal warned on Saturday that if the BJP wins the Lok Sabha polls, all opposition leaders, including Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena (UBT), and Tejashvi Yadav of RJD, will end up in jail.
Speaking to his party workers at the AAP headquarters in New Delhi, Kejriwal expressed confidence that the BJP would not return to power and asserted that the INDIA bloc would form the government on June 4.
“In the last 20 hours since my release from jail, I have consulted with poll experts and the public, and it’s clear that the BJP won’t form the government,” Kejriwal stated.
He further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of soliciting votes for Union Home Minister Amit Shah, questioning who would be the BJP’s Prime Minister candidate. Kejriwal highlighted Modi’s upcoming 75th birthday and implied that he would be retired next year according to his own rule.
Kejriwal also claimed that if the BJP were to come to power, they would replace the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh within two months.
Responding to demands for his resignation while he was in jail, Kejriwal explained that he did not step down because he believed the accusations against him were fabricated.
In a scathing attack on the BJP, Kejriwal accused the party of harboring “thieves and dacoits” and contrasted their approach to corruption with that of his own party, AAP.
Furthermore, Kejriwal alleged that the Prime Minister had actively sought to suppress the AAP by incarcerating its top leaders.
