Tata Motors Secures Contract to Provide and Operate 200 Electric Buses in Srinagar and Jammu for 12 Years

NEW DELHI, November 2: Tata Motors has announced its contract to supply and operate 200 electric buses in Srinagar and Jammu for the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects over a span of 12 years.

The company has delivered the initial set of Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Srinagar Smart City Ltd, through TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, a Tata Motors group company.

In a statement, Tata Motors stated, “The delivery of the electric buses is part of a larger order to supply, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses in Srinagar and 100 electric buses in Jammu for a 12-year duration for the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects.”

Chairman of TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay, expressed his thoughts on the delivery of the first batch, saying, “This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to safer, smarter, and greener mobility solutions, and we look forward to playing a key role in shaping the future of public transport in Jammu & Kashmir.”

Tata Motors revealed that it has already supplied more than 1,000 electric buses in multiple Indian cities, accumulating over 9.6 crore kilometers in travel with an impressive uptime of over 95 percent.
