Hyderabad, November 2 : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the Medigadda barrage of the Kaleswaram project in Telangana on Thursday, raising concerns about the alleged damage to the barrage’s piers.

According to Gandhi, multiple pillars of the barrage have shown cracks due to what he described as subpar construction. He took to “X” (formerly Twitter) to express his thoughts, saying, “Kaleshwaram Project = KCR Family ATM. I visited the Medigadda barrage, which is a part of the corruption-ridden Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme in Telangana.”

He further pointed out, “Cracks have developed in multiple pillars because of shoddy construction with reports indicating that the pillars are sinking. KCR and his family are using the Kaleshwaram Project as their personal ATM to plunder the people of Telangana.”

During his visit, Gandhi was accompanied by state Congress president A Revanth Reddy and other party members. Notably, Rahul Gandhi had previously raised concerns about corruption in the Kaleswaram project during his recent election rallies in Telangana. He even displayed a mock ‘Kaleswaram ATM’ created by his party to illustrate his point, and one such installation was placed in Hyderabad, as confirmed by Congress sources.
