New Delhi, November 2, 2023: Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has called upon the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to retract the notice that summoned him for questioning, asserting that it is both “unlawful” and “politically motivated.”

The ED has summoned Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with a money laundering investigation related to an alleged excise policy scandal. He is scheduled to provide his statement at the ED’s office in Delhi at 11 am.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in power in Delhi, has not disclosed whether the Chief Minister intends to comply with the ED’s summons.

In response to the ED’s notice, the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office has stated that Mr. Kejriwal views it as “unlawful” and believes it is an attempt to hinder his election campaign activities in states where polls are approaching.

Arvind Kejriwal has also alleged that the notice is the result of influence from the BJP.

In anticipation of potential protests by AAP supporters, multiple layers of barricades have been erected at the ED’s office on Tughlaq Road. A substantial deployment of both police and paramilitary personnel has been organized, according to an official source.
