Ramban, September 23: In a shocking incident, two police officers were discovered dead inside a Fiat Linea car at Ziarat Morh in the Sana region of Batote tehsil, Ramban district, on Tuesday evening. Authorities reported the grim finding at around 8:30 PM.
Sources from the Jammu and Kashmir police informed the Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that locals initially found the officers unconscious in the vehicle, which bore the registration number JK-19/5299. They promptly transported the victims to the District Hospital Ramban, where medical staff pronounced them dead upon arrival.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed, who held the identification number 408/Rbn and hailed from Bhatti Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob, identified by number 309/Rbn and a resident of Jatgali Ramban. Both officers were assigned to the District Police Lines in Ramban.
Currently, authorities have retained the bodies at the hospital to complete necessary medico-legal procedures. The circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear.
Officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of this tragic incident. While investigations are ongoing, the local community mourns the loss of two of their protectors.
